Brave One,
Stand up from where you are; step out of where you've been. It's time to say goodbye to Familiar as your friend.
Familiar will entice you to stay within his reach. He'll whisper lies like, "You are fine on the shoreline of the beach."
He sings a song, "Stay here with me," each time you make a shift. Have hope, brave one, for I have heard your deep call out to Me.
That thing that holds you fast, that regret that keeps you stuck,
will be undone when you take My hand and step above the muck.
Beloved, I went to war for you as I hung there on the cross. It is finished, shame's undone. Love and grace have won.
There's a shift that needs to happen in the thinking of your thoughts.
Do you not think My love and grace are enough to win your trust?
Hand me the soundtrack old Familiar keeps replaying in your mind.
Let Me replace it with the truth of who I say you are.
You are righteous. You are worthy. I am proud to call you Mine. I have a plan. I have a purpose, and My grace transcends your wrongs.
It's time to say goodbye to Familiar as your friend. It's time to fall in step with Me, and take Me at My Word.
Your Beloved Redeemer,
Jesus
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2 (KJV)
